Controversy as minister of Youth and sports development tells Amaju Pinnick to step down

A directive has reportedly been given by the federal government through the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development that Amaju Pinnick should step down from his position as NFF President.


This statement which was issued by Nneka Ikem Anibeze, the special aide on media to the Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, Premium Times reports.

 the sports ministry directed the Nigeria Football Federation, a parastatal under it, to comply with a court order setting aside the election into the Executive Committee of the NFF held on September 30, 2014.


Mr Dalung said the directive followed a written notification signed for the Attorney-General of the Federation requesting the sports ministry to ensure compliance.

The notification from the justice minister was quoted as follows:

“I have been directed to notify you of the Orders dated June 5th 2018 made by Honorable Justice M. H. Kurya sitting at the Federal High Court Jos in respect of the above mentioned suit between Yahaya Adama Vs Alhaji Aminu Maigari which states that the election of the NFF held on August 26, 2014 under the leadership of Amb Chris Giwa be given recognition pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice filed in this case and that the purported ban of the Executive Committee elected on August 26, 2014 from football activities of the NFF is unconstitutional, null and void.

 “It is trite law that court orders are sacrosanct and any acts of disobedience to it constitutes threat to the rule of law. Consequent upon the above, you are hereby advised to comply with the orders of court made therein which for now, is the valid and binding order of court, in the absence of any other subsisting order or judgment to the contrary.

Super Eagles captain, Mikel Obi's father rescued from kidnappers

The police on Monday 2nd of July 2018, saved the life of the abducted father of Super Eagles captain, and former Chelsea mildfilder, Mikel Obi, in Enugu.

A statement issued by spokesman of Enugu State Police Command, Ebere Amaraizu, said Pa Michael Obi and his driver, Ishaya John, were kidnapped last Friday along Makurdi – Enugu Road.

The statement read:‎

“The Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Police Force through its operatives of the 9thmile Division on Monday at 2:30 p.m. rescued Pa Michael Obi and his driver one Ishaya John unhurt in Egede udi forest of Enugu State along old Egede Affa Road in Enugu.

“They were rescued hale and hearty and Pa Michael Obi and the driver have rejoined their family. It was gathered that Pa Obi was allegedly abducted along Makurdi -Enugu road in the afternoon of 29/6/18 on his way from Jos in his grey colored Toyota pardon jeep with registration number MUS 604CG and taken to unknown destination through the thick forest part of the area.

“It was further gathered that the abductors started calling to demand a ransom of N10 million before the operatives acting on intelligence information swooped on them where a gun duel ensued. This forced the hoodlums to abandon their victims inside the forest and they were promptly rescued.”

  There was so much joy and relieve on his return after been abducted by gunmen in Enugu state.

Mercy after death as LASG promises to prosecute owner and driver of Otedola bridge tanker

The Lagos State Government has issued a statement yesterday to prosecute the owner and driver of the ill-fated fuel tanker which exploded last Thursday on Otedola Bridge inward Ojodu Berger along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, the State’s Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal said on Monday.

Mr. Adeniji the State's Attorney General, and Kazeem the State's commissioner for Justice had at the weekend written to the CP to advise him on the relevant provisions of the law that could guide the ongoing investigation which would lead to possible prosecution.

Confirming receipt of the letter while briefing Government House Correspondents after the Security Council Meeting chaired by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, Edgal said investigations into the inferno incident were ongoing, saying that government would not allow vehicles that pose serious danger to residents on the road.

The police chief, who spoke to journalists alongside heads of other security agencies in the State, specifically sympathizes with those who lost their loved ones to the tragic incident, while also commending emergency responders who quickly ran to the scene to keep the casualty figure low.

“As regards investigation into the matter, it is in top gear. I have just received a letter from the office of the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice which stated very clearly charges which we are going to prefer against the driver and the owner of that tanker.

“Henceforth, we are using this opportunity to call on all tanker drivers, all lorry drivers, all owners of such articulated vehicles to please submit those vehicles for Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO) test; they must go through the entire hub and get the Ministry of Transportation (MOT) Certificate of Road Worthiness. We will not allow such vehicles which obviously pose serious danger to other road users on our roads,” Edgal said.

but I still think more proactive measures should be carry out to forestall such happenings in the future.

An Abuja man who gets beaten by his wife always, complains

While so many women complain of being beaten by their husbands, a man recently has reportedly revealed why he ran away from his marriage.

 According to him, he got married when he was 25-years-old and was a victim of domestic violence by his wife who always beat him because of her big size.

He  said he could longer bear the situation anymore when his big size wife sat on top of him for almost 20 minutes which made him to faint in the process, he had to abandon the marriage.

" I got married when I was 25 years old but I couldn't stay in the marriage. The woman I got married to was way bigger than I was so she used to hit me. After a proper research personally carried out by me, on the results of several broken relationship, I was able to deduce some essential techniques to keep a lasting relationship with your heartthrob.

1. The chase.
   For the benefit of those who don't understand my title. The chasing period in a relationship is the length of time in which a guy is hunting for a girl or vice versa.

It is the best moment in a relationship as most times a guy is ready to do all he can just to get the lady he is crushing on.

During this period the guy chasing at the lady can call between intervals in a day like taking three square meal or even more than.

He can talk endlessly just make sure he pleases the lady, at this moment texts messages, gifts and going out on a date is more regular just to get his crush to say yes.

This moment is the deception period as both parties pretends to achieve their aim.

Now at this point, if you definitely don't want to get into the wrong hands,so you need no pretense,you just have to be yourself and try not to be swept away by the lots of gifts and attention you are getting during this short period.

instead take this time to under study your soon to be partner. Get to know him better, try to meet his friends, and get to know the resulting issues in his past relationships.

 As this may be the better opportunity for you to scrutinize him while you are in control and you can either say yes or no.

One important thing to note here also, try not to say yes out of pity because you will definitely going to suffer it later.

Funny title right, but it's the only thing that knock my head when writing this article.

So after answering the big question with a yes from your crush,  the next thing to do is to start building the trust between each other because no relationship survives without this.

Learn to talk to each other about everything no matter how discomforting it is. Starting from the places you go each day, at least that will clear the suspicion incase someone else tells your partner they saw you some where.

In this period try to do away with white Lies as both of you is yet to know each better.

 Try to introduce your partner to your friends especially the ones called bestie both male and female, so that if you guys are not comfortable with any of them then they can be an adjustment and have to iron things out.
If trust is successfully buil, then you both will go a long way.


4. Attention

Hmm,  my favorite. What you love you shower with attention.
This is a very salient ingredient in a relationship that keeps it all spice up. It is important to note once you stop giving each other attention the relationship gets boring,

attention includes  getting to notice what is troubling your partner even when he/she didn't spell it out to you.

 Telling her she looks beautiful  after making a new hairstyle or wore a beautiful dress, ofcos she did all that for you to notice her,  so all you have to do is to make sure you appreciate the tiniest things about each other, it shows that you care.

Make sure you give each other pet names, create out time to go outing together especially the cinemas to see movies.and sometimes clubbing.

As I'm about wrapping up, let me leave you with the last but not the least on this list.

5. Don't be too overbearing on your partner

There's no relationship without giving or sharing, this includes affection, your comfort, time and money. Yes that is true but you don't have to make it, seems like it is a task, that your partner must meet.

Most especially asking your partner for money regularly, especially for little things you can do yourself, it makes you loose respect.

Don't be overbearing on your partner especially for ladies who always carry their family problems to their partner in order to get monetary assistance.

Men get irritated sometimes by this act even though they won't tell you, it makes them to look less at your family and I know you don't want to marry a man who wouldn't have respect for your family.

 And something estra to add here before I go, a good sex seals it all, it keeps your partner coming back for more.

On daily basis, we are faced with the hurdles of life which poses right in front of us to test our abilities.

Often times, overcoming such task comes with taking a very difficult decision and other times you just don't know what to do but you eventually scale through.

Tough time they say don't last, but not if you do nothing about it. A friend of mine once said every great achievement begins with a decision. The decision will make in life perhaps could either make or mar us.

My attention has be drawn to the various challenges people are facing in life. so I have got to understand, not to judge others from my own privilege position.

Instead I have learn to give a helping hand to others, encourage them to face their challenges, and become a better person.

When I was in school, my lecturer, Professor Solomon Nwibo would always say, one has to be resilient in life to survive.

that is to say when life throws bricks at you, one has to be strong enough to gather those bricks to build bridges that will cross you over to the next level.

The true test of a man,  is in the challenges he has face and overcome. In the struggle to make it in life one is bound to make mistakes, but the truth is that you don't dwell so much on those past mistakes.

Do not waste your time looking at what you lost,

Get over it and press forward, continue pushing till you achieve your dream.

work hard and work smart, there's nothing one can not achieve with great determination and persistence.

you may be, just a step away from achieving greatness and all you need is yet another leap of faith.

Shocking as couple drown while taking selfie on a seaside Wall

Wonder they say will never end, As two love birds met their waterloo while on vacation.

Michael Kearns, 33-year-old and Louise Benson 37-year-old who went on a vacation in Portugal reportedly drown to their deaths, while taking  selfies on a seaside wall. Authorities say they( the couple ) were either taking a selfie or retrieving a lost item.

The seawall has been a popular spot for taking pictures for tourist.

The man and woman, one British and the other Australian, were found on a beach in the town of Ericeira after they reportedly fell early Tuesday.


Portuguese tabloid Correio da Manha reported the wall was about 98 feet tall.

Australian authorities said they were providing assistance to the family of the Australian citizen and coordinating with British authorities regarding the other victim.

Their bodies were initially  discovered by fishermen who thought they were asleep, and later by a beach cleaner who realized they were dead.

World Cup fever: see the referee announced by FIFA to officiate Nigeria Vs Croatia match

Ricci who is 43years of age from Brazil will be officiating in his second FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia and will be at the cynosure of all eyes when former African champions Nigeria lock horns with the Croats in Kaliningrad, starting from 8pm Nigerian time on Saturday.

He will be assisted by compatriots Emerson De Carvalho and Marcelo van Gasse who will be first and second assistant referees respectively in the Group D clash.

This will be the first time Nigeria will have a Brazilian officiating a World Cup match although the Eagles’ opening game in Brazil in 2014 (a goalless draw against Iran) was officiated by a South American, from Ecuador.

Ricci is famous for being the first ever referee to validate a goal by the means of the Goal-line technology in his debut match as centre referee in the FIFA World Cup in 2014.

The goal came during France’s game against Honduras in Porto Alegre on June 15, exactly four years on Friday, one day before Ricci’s appointment in Kaliningrad. His assistants for Saturday’s game have been with him since 2013 and were together in that historic game in Brazil.
